Statistics have shown that up to 85% of men will experience hair loss in their lifetime. In many cases, hair loss is genetic, and despite medications, tonics, and creams, there are few treatments available that will restore hair back to desirable amounts in those with hair loss. Temporary solutions, such as hair pieces, and topical hair fibers, exist, but often put limitations on those who use them as they tend to carry the concern that their hair loss may become visible in specific situations.
Scalp micro-pigmentation treatments are a permanent, and non-invasive method of replicating the appearance of hair, by creating the semblance of stubble in areas of hair loss to create a natural and undetectable looking tightly shaven appearance. This process is highly advanced, and a number of decisions are made to ensure the most natural look, along with keeping true to a natural hairline that will suit each individual client.
Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) is the process of placing tiny deposits of pigment into the skin's upper dermis. Specialized techniques, needles and pigments are used to create the most natural looking outcome.
Our treatments are client specific. For hair replication, multiple sessions are required to obtain the most natural looking outcome. Our approach is conservative, and we work with our clients to choose the most natural looking hair line for them. In our practice, we think of the long term outcome, and will treat the entire head if we can see that hair loss will progress in the future, to prevent our clients from having to have the treatment done in areas of progressed hair loss, so their treatment will look as natural and as uniform as possible. Often, treatments take two to four sessions to complete, and clients have the opportunity to book a complimentary touch up appointment within one year of their SMP treatment. Depending on the clients specific needs, SMP treatments can be completed in approximately one month.
Each client reacts differently to the treatment- because we are using needles, and embedding ink into the skin, temporary inflammation will occur. This is predictable, however, if you have very sensitive skin, or inflame easily, this treatment must be broken up into multiple, shorter sessions to ensure the outcome of the treatment is desirable. Some can sit longer than others, while others can only sit for a few hours before needing to end treatment, and book an additional session. In most cases, this will not affect the price of the treatment.
Additionally, we offer treatments that are suitable for clients who are experiencing thinning of their hair. This treatment camouflages the contrast of the scalp to the hair, and creates the appearance of a fuller head of hair.
In order to determine the best course of action for each individual client, consultation appointments are mandatory prior to booking a procedure. Consultations are complimentary, and help us to serve you better.
